Onde ficar em Roterdão durante o Festival de Cinema? Aqui fica a minha sugestão pessoal (e quem sabe parte do meu itinerário no próximo ano...). Daqui emigrava-se para os Estados Unidos e agora passa-se uma agradável estadia bem ao estilo Holandês! Este hotel tem história, uma localização fantástica com acesso previligiado por watertaxi, comida óptima (o oyster bar é a perdição) e é uma caixinha de surpresas cheia de pormenores de bom gosto e bom design - simples&Nederlands! A antiga zona industrial da cidade, onde o Hotel está inserido, foi reconvertida e requalificada, sendo agora merecedora de incursões exploratórias...

The former main office of the Holland Amerika Lijn has a cosmopolitan feel, situated at a marvellous location with a view of the city skyline, the port and the river. It’s only 5 minutes by water taxi to the opposite shore of the Maas River, or you can sail on to the centre of the city. The New York Hotel proudly stands on the river bank, a pioneer and a link between past and present. The area where it stands has suffered extensive renovation and planning, with buildings designed by famous architects standing out here. The Wilhelminapier will play a key role in the new town planning project for the left bank: 'de Kop van Zuid' ,combining residential, business, shopping and entertainment purposes. In and amongst the new buildings, the existing facades will be preserved wherever possible.
